LED Light Therapy Penrith

A non-invasive light-based treatment that supports skin health at a cellular level.

Duration: 20 minutes

What Is LED Light Therapy?

LED (Light Emitting Diode) light therapy is a non-invasive skin treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to support the skin's natural processes at a cellular level. It requires no downtime and is suitable for most skin types.

At BLAAH, we use medical-grade LED panels that deliver calibrated wavelengths to the skin. The treatment can be performed as a standalone session or used to complement other skin treatments for enhanced recovery and results. For a detailed breakdown of how different wavelengths work, read our blog post on red light vs blue light therapy.

How It Works

Different wavelengths of light penetrate the skin to varying depths and may help support different cellular processes. Red light (typically 630-660nm) penetrates deeper into the skin and may help support collagen production and overall skin health. Blue light (typically 415nm) targets the surface layers and may help address acne-causing bacteria.

During the treatment, you simply lie beneath the LED panel while the light is delivered to the skin. There is no heat, no discomfort, and no preparation required. Most sessions take around 20 minutes.

What It May Help Address

  • Inflammation and post-treatment redness
  • Acne and breakout-prone skin
  • Dull or uneven skin tone
  • General skin health and vitality
  • Post-procedure recovery support

What to Expect

LED light therapy is one of the most comfortable skin treatments available. You will lie on a treatment bed with the LED panel positioned above your face or body. Protective eye shields are provided. You may feel a gentle warmth, but the treatment is not hot or uncomfortable.

There is no redness, peeling, or downtime after an LED session. You can apply makeup and return to your normal routine immediately. Many people find the treatment relaxing and use it as an opportunity to rest.

Aftercare

  • No specific aftercare is required
  • Continue your regular skincare routine
  • Apply SPF as part of your daily skin health routine
  • Stay hydrated to support overall skin health

Who Is It For?

LED light therapy is suitable for nearly all skin types and concerns. It is an excellent standalone treatment for those who prefer a completely non-invasive approach, and it works well as a complement to other treatments such as chemical peels, dermal stamping, or laser procedures. Your clinician can advise on the best approach for your skin during your consultation. Visit our pricing page for session and package costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have LED light therapy?

For best results, LED light therapy is often recommended as a course of treatments — typically once or twice per week over several weeks. Maintenance sessions can then be scheduled monthly or as needed. Your clinician will recommend a frequency based on your skin goals.

Can I combine LED with other treatments?

Yes. LED light therapy pairs well with many other treatments. At BLAAH, it is included as part of our dermal stamping sessions and Event Glow package. It may also be used after chemical peels or laser treatments to support the skin's recovery process.

Is it safe for all skin types?

LED light therapy is generally considered safe for all skin types and tones. It does not use UV light and does not cause burns or pigmentation changes. However, it may not be suitable if you are taking certain photosensitising medications or have a history of light-sensitive conditions. Your clinician will assess your suitability during your consultation.
