Non-Surgical Cosmetic Medicine

Non-Surgical Cosmetic Medicine

Non-surgical cosmetic treatments at our Penrith clinic. Every treatment starts with a proper consultation so we understand what you are looking for and whether it is right for you.

Overview

What Is Non-Surgical Cosmetic Medicine?

Non-surgical cosmetic medicine covers a range of non-invasive and minimally invasive treatments that may help address visible signs of ageing, volume changes, and other facial concerns. No surgery, no general anaesthesia, no extended recovery.

These treatments are performed by AHPRA-registered practitioners in a clinical setting. At BLAAH, we start with a face-to-face consultation where we look at your concerns, talk about realistic outcomes, and make sure you have what you need to decide whether to go ahead.

This is not about changing who you are. It is about having options that may help with specific concerns, done in a measured way, and adjusted over time as your needs shift. We also offer a range of skin treatments and laser treatments at our Penrith clinic.

Treatment Areas

What Concerns May Be Addressed?

Non-surgical cosmetic treatments may help with concerns related to the natural ageing process and how your face changes over time. Common areas include:

  • Lines and wrinkles — dynamic lines that appear with facial movement (such as frown lines, forehead lines, and lines around the eyes) and static lines that are visible at rest
  • Volume changes — loss of volume in areas such as the cheeks, temples, and under-eye hollows that occurs naturally with age
  • Lip concerns — asymmetry, thinning, or changes in lip definition
  • Jawline and chin definition — softening of the jaw area or chin projection
  • Excessive sweating — hyperhidrosis in areas such as the underarms
  • Teeth grinding — muscle-related jaw tension (bruxism)

Not every concern is suitable for non-surgical treatment. During your consultation, we will assess whether a non-surgical approach is appropriate for you, or whether an alternative pathway may be more suitable.

Your Consultation

The Consultation Process at BLAAH

Every treatment at BLAAH starts with a consultation. This is mandatory. We do not perform cosmetic procedures without one.

Your practitioner will go through your medical history, assess the areas of concern, and talk you through what treatment options may be available. We cover how each treatment works, what you can realistically expect, the potential risks and side effects, and what aftercare looks like.

You do not have to decide on the day. Take your time. For patients under 18, a mandatory seven-day cooling-off period applies between the consultation and any procedure, as required by AHPRA guidelines. Read more about what happens at your first cosmetic consultation, or check our FAQ page for common questions.

If you decide to go ahead, your practitioner will put together a plan based on your anatomy, what you want to address, and the most measured approach to get there.

During Treatment

What to Expect During Treatment

Non-surgical procedures are done in our Penrith clinic. Depending on the treatment, it takes between 15 minutes and an hour. We may apply a topical anaesthetic beforehand to keep you comfortable.

Your practitioner will talk you through each step as it happens. Ask questions whenever you want. Everything will have been discussed and agreed on during your consultation.

Afterwards, you may have some redness, swelling, or tenderness. That is normal and usually settles within a few hours to a few days. We will give you specific aftercare instructions, including what to avoid.

We schedule follow-up appointments as needed to check how things are tracking and whether any adjustments make sense.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes, always. It is mandatory before any cosmetic procedure. We need to assess your suitability, take a medical history, and make sure you have all the information to give informed consent. No exceptions.

How long do the effects of non-surgical treatments last?

It depends on the treatment, the area, and individual factors like metabolism and lifestyle. Your practitioner will give you an estimated timeframe during your consultation. Follow-ups can be booked to keep things on track.

Are there any risks or side effects?

Like any medical procedure, there are potential risks. Common side effects include mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising at the treatment site, and these usually resolve within a few days. Less common risks are covered in detail during your consultation. We make sure you understand everything before going ahead.

Who performs the treatments at BLAAH?

AHPRA-registered practitioners with specialist cosmetic training. That is Natalie Hoyle (Cosmetic Nurse and Clinic Director, AHPRA NMW0002801536) and Dr Niro Sivathasan (Cosmetic Physician, AHPRA MED0001769614).

Can I return to normal activities after treatment?

Most people get back to their day straight away. You may need to skip the gym, alcohol, and hot showers for 24-48 hours. Your practitioner will give you the specifics for your treatment.
